how about a good 13" or 14" centrino or core duo notebook on the cheap? i'm relatively flexible on brands (apple preferred though) but i can work with a dell or hp if i have to.

Considering that Yonah is about 25% faster clock for clock than Dothan, that would mean:

1.66GHz Core Duo (Yonah) = 1.66 x 1.25 = 2.075 GHz Dothan

And since it is dual core, you get a significant boost from that as well (conservatively, well say another 25%, but it should be more). 2.075 x 1.25 = 2.59375GHz.


Oh, and don't get me started about Core 2 Duo. That is a full 25-30% faster than Core Duo.
