Can i upgrade my CPU

I have An HP Pavilion zv 6000 has a single core cpu 2.2 can it be upgraded to a faster chip.
AMD athlon 64 3500
NewCastle band id 4
socket 939
voltage 1.150

i do not see why not. just watch ur psu and heat dissipation and bios and $$

Just make sure the replacement is a "mobile" A64. They're not the same as a desktop chip, & might be hard to find.

You can, to any mobile socket 939 chips. But whats the point, the fastest one is the 4000+ which is 2.4Ghz and 1mb cache, not much of an improvment for the price.
