Hi all, looking for some help.
My meighbour's Compaq Presario 700 has suffered some damage to the power adapter --- looks like someone let it drop. The connector where it goes into the back of the machine is slightly bent, but the actual connection on the back of the laptop is broken: the pins seem to have snapped off, and the adapter just goes in but doesn't grip. As a result, no power.
Now, there's no way to power up the machine, therefore no way to charge the battery, and she's at her wits' end. I believe the connection is on a card, which may be replacable. Just wondering if anyone knows if this is possible, and if so, how difficult/expensive is it? Unfortunately she can't afford to just buy a new machine.
Any help appreciated: I'm not too well up on laptops, and they seem quite tricky to work with.
Thanks!
