routers

Hi, all. I know this is a bit off topic, but I was hoping someone could help me.

I've got a Linksys wireless router (befw11s4 v3.2). About 4-5 months ago, I upgraded the firmware, naively believing Linksys' email to me that it should fix a few security bugs on the router, mainly with cookie problems and AOL issues.

The router basically crashed. I think I should be able to fix the problem, however, I cannot get Linksys to email me the correct firmware for the router. They keep issuing me version 1.44 firmware for the befw11s4 v2 router, which is not compatible with my router. I can load in version 1.45, but then my router crashes after 5 minutes of use (all the ports reset, then it resets again about every 3-5 minutes)

Does anyone know where I can get WORKING firmware for this router (version 1.44 or under)? If necessary, I can buy a new router, but I was hoping not to have to go to the expense if I can get this one working.

Thanks all!

Have Linksys send you a replacement. If not and you know the correct version you need send me your e-mail address and I'll get the right version for you. I've seen weird issues with Linksys routers and a lot of times they are defective...

try this one. this version (1.50.10) "Fixed a lock up issue reported by some users" as of jan. 16, 2003 - i believe it should be 2004 since version 1.50 was issued oct. 23, 2003.

would the original version be on the setup disk?
