dell 8600 1.6 128ati pro, Gaming GPU TEMP??

Hi, i have a 8600 1.6 with a 128 ati pro turbo.

i am wondering what other computers' GPU temperatures are while playing open gl games such as call of duty.

Posted below are my GPU temps i obtained while playing call of duty in an overclocked video setting and a normal setting as well.

Normal setting(not overclocked)
Engine CLock 337
memory clcok 243
GPU temp while playing game ~87 degrees C

Overclcoked
Engine CLock 371
memory clcok 277
GPU temp while playing game ~94degrees C

I preformed both these tests indoor in a 72 degree room

You were playing your lappy in a 72C room? *shocked look* I'd melt in that temperature! Um, as for comparisons, the hottest I've gotten is around 70C whilst playing NFS Underground on full detail settings.

I think he meant 72 degrees F since he doesnt mention C

RavenQ, when you mention 70 C, is that the cpu temp instead of the GPU temp?

I have been as high as 98 celsius when playing far cry when not overclocked.
When playing unreal 2004 demo, it's about 75-85 celcius, when playing battlefield 1942 it's about 75-82 celsius, and when playing age of wonders 2 it's at only 58-61 celsius.

I have an inspiron 8600 with ati mobility 9600 pro turbo, 1,7ghz, 768mb ram, 60gb 7200rpm and wuxga screen.

Wasn't it 91 degrees? As you said here:

"The cooling is terrible On both the radeon cards i had 91 degrees was when the system locked up. I could only get artifacts if i overclocked the cards to insane speeds and let it sit there for a minute before it crashed This is also the cutoff temperature on my friends 9600"

it was probabaly 98c 91 seems unreasonable to me could be the bad crack day

You all my think I am full of it, but my record at 420/310 was 107, still got me 3498 3DMarks though.

BoP was totally screwed ofcourse.

Funnily it could run 3DMark2003 at these speeds, but Age of Mythology would freeze pretty quickly ...

Really, AoM is more stressfull than 3DMark2003!!

Considering returning it or letting it fry within the year...

You have to loop 3dmark for it to crash since only 2 of the 3 tests stress the video card completely
