aol instant messenger

Is anyone else having problems with aol instant messenger. After a couple minutes mine shuts down. I know everyone says to use IChat, I would like to know what the problem is with Aol Instant Messenger.

Also, what program does anyone use to take videos with the webcam.

The problem is that AIM sucks and it probably sucks even worse now that it's running under Rosetta on Intel Macs.

Yep, AOL is crapware. In fact, there are a lot of places where it is treated as a virus.

yes, aol is garbage. Use Adium instead, an all in one IM program.

Audium and Fire is where you wanna go.

ichat is only so-so.

ive used both audium and fire, since aol would want to close after 1 min of being on.

audium is nice, fire is nice. audium is a little more simplistic while fire "tries" to check email for you. fire is more of just an email alerter though, because it never signs in for me.

didn't know fire checked mail.... you might wanna double check your settings b/c i used fire in school ALL the freaken time and it never failed me. i guess the only reason i prefer fire is because its the closesest thing to GAIM available.

what is your default browser abf?

mine is firefox, and i think that has something todo with why the email doesnt work. ive tried a lot of things, settings, all of it, to no avail.

...i believe safari is set as default still...or maybe it is firefox, not quite sure. really be careful with the mistakes because typos happen. are you behind a proxy by any chance b/c that will make a difference.
