I've been asking a similar question for a long time, I still don't have a good answer.

Re:

No, as far as I'm aware, cHRoNiCauST, you've been asking if the pentium D is an option - i really don't think it is. On the other hand the 6.x series prescott should be fine.

Well I'm thinking I'm going to buy the 571 so I can have em64t and have more RAM, but it would be very helpful if you told me how to get the heatsink off.

7700 not works whit 571 processor... this one be 65nm, only 90nm can use it.

570J and 670 (3.8ghz) are fasters processors for m7700 avaliable.
I beg to differ. This one is 90 nm.

Does anyone know how much my 3DMark05/Gaming performance might improve with the 571 3.8 GHz?

Locate the big cover on the bottom, and you can see the 4 numbered screws.

You should get the heatsink off

Thanks! I didn't know that. I've only opened it up once and I didn't really consider trying to take it off. lol. I need some as5 or other thermal paste before I take it off right? I don't want to take it off and mess anything up.

Yes, you need a very good termal paste on the 7700.

I use Artic Silver 5 (high-density filling of micronized silver)

Tip: If you need pull over processor from socket, remove all ram memory modules first.
