wow awesome. thanks for the picture too. i think thats a pretty significant change from 39 to 35 degrees. my idle is also about where you are. i get about 40 deg C.

do you know if your nvidia 7400's cooling has improved?

mmm yeah its a change but I would like to see a more noticiable change in idle, the nvidia hasnt change, I still getting 78 idle, thats really hot for me, I cant imagine how it would be if I install f.e.a.r. or doom 3, Im seeking for a cool internal solution like a new fan (with led so it would be like de xpsm17...) or something with more copper or what I know... something COOLER cause I think that merom will be hotter... I dont want a pan!!! I want a laptop btw, dont look only for your nvidia temp, I use Everest for temp of Yonah, it gives me all temps (including HD and Chipset)

My Heatsink had a blue thermal heat pad with a copper like sheet glued to it for the 7400. It had soem HARD dried crap thermal compund on it. I slowly and lightly rubbed fedron on the compund to get all the old junk off. I could see the blue thermal pad slighly moving around liike it wanted to come off but didnt thank gosh. So I then cleaned the cpu and gpu also and put nice thin layers of as5 ont he gpu and cpu.

My 7400 idles around 58-60 now and seems to peak around 65-67 or so when playing cod2. Cpu (t2500) is idleing around 40 and peaking around 50 or so when gaming.

Same crap here, but in the Chipset, the 7400 didnt had anything I hope dell can do something better with the next systems, I want to change the fan (only the fan from the little black case) with another with 0db's and a blue led (or red) but I have to check a lot of things before, I want my merom in a Sweet Cool Ambience (I know, I know its a proccesor but heey I love Speed and benchmarking and kick a553s in SuperPI)

The chipset on mine had the blue thermal pad but no copper sheet like the gpu did, so i left it at that for the chipset. I have friends that manufacture parts for motorcycles. I am going to see if i can have one made that bends to come in contact directly with the chipsets and gpu to avoid the gap and having to use thermal tape.

28c CPU and 61c GPU
I have it set for laptop use though.
So the clocks are usually set to 990mhz by the stepping.

50 "or so" when gaming? More like 70C, depending on the game. You should use i8kfangui and it will tell you EXACTLY what your highest temperature was.

The M1210 IS a toasty system, no question. I'm actually a little frustrated with how hot it runs.

69c while playing F.E.A.R. and everything set on high. Room temp. 77f

Yep, 69C/70C is more like it for the CPU. Now go play it on your bed and see it hit 85C
