Charging Problems

Hi all, I have a problem with my Acer Travelmate 2700.
It randomly stops running off the mains and switches over to battery power. Its not the charger, I've just replaced that.
I can be on for hours and it will stay running of the charger, and then again I can be on for a few minutes and it will go over on to the battery. The only way to get it back running off the mains is to hibernate or restart the computer.
There is no Paten to it its completely random.
Anyone got any ideas?

maybe it is the ac jack that is the pc where u plug the adapter in it may be loose or something

I thought that but moving it doesnt make any difference, I will have a closer look though.

well goodluck, and as u said if u bought a new charger and tried to move the ac jack and the problem still exists maybe there is an internal hardware problem

I think a reinstall is the next thing to try, I will do it tomorrow and report back.

It was the charging socket, I re-soldered it and it works. I still don't know why I had to restart to get it working though, but all seems fine now.
