Desktop power supply?????

Hi, I have been looking at a desktop computer to buy for school and play. I have lloked at many different brands and have about picked one. But before I buy the dsktop I have a question to ask about the power supply. The desktop comes with a 485 watt power supply. I dont really know much about computer so I am asking all of you, is 485 watts enought. I plan to use a 7900GTX graphics card on it, would 485 watts be enought to use my grohics card? Also is 485 watts enought to run two grahics card? Thank you for any help you may give.

Well i'm not entirely sure. First off i think you'd have to make sure you have two pci-e power connectors for the graphics cards. That powersupply might not have two.

Usually the ones that can do SLi and what not, say SLi certified. Also, what else are you running? Multiple harddrives? Multiple CD roms?

Watchout for the cheap no-name brand PSUs. A 600watt PSU by a no-name brand can crap out faster than a 400watt PSU by a well known company like Antec.

OEM PSU's can suck......Not to say they all do, but Dell, Gateway, Apple, HP, and IBM all use so-so PSU's.......There are many brands that are good if you go to newegg, and type in "Power supply" in the search column.
