USB Problems

Hi,

I have bought the TRIPP LITE 4Port USB Hub.

Yesterdey I just pluged it in and every device could be found. Today after I turned on the laptop, nothing is working.

The hub's LED is on and I hear a windows beep when I put the HUB cable in the laptop. But the devices are not there.

Why is USB so naggy? What should I do?

try pulling out the hub and replugging it does this fix it?

Ok i tried everything and have this conclusion.

WHen I shutdown the laptop and turn it on again.
- I still can use my external Keyboard in BIOS or boot menu.
- As soon as Windows starts up, no USB Device on the hub is working anymore.
- When I use the AC Plug and power the hub externaly for a second, every device is identified again.
- Even if I removce the AC cable after this second, the devices stay recognized.

This is really weird since the hub should be selfpowered and/or AC powered.

- I tried it even with just one device on the hub, to see if my devices suck to much power. But even the one device on the hub doesn't work without external power.

On a Desktop computer everything works fine, it seems to me, that the laptop gives the hub just 100mA at the beginning. After connecting the external power to the hub and recognizing the devices, the laptop can provide for each device 100mA thats why it still works after unplugging the AC power.

Is it possible change the setiings in Windows?

It seems this hub is not the right one for I8600 or Laptops in general.

Maybe I consider to sell it on Ebay and but the other one which was recommended by jswriter.
