3dmark05 and 06

Thread Starter
So I ran 05 and 06. The max score I got out of 05 is 6112. Which I hear for a single GPU notebook it is excellent. Now the SLI GPU's score over 10100. Around 5000 difference.

I ran 06 and the max score I recieved was 3529 and The SLI GPU's get around 5000 - 5800 only about a 1500 - 2300 difference. Shouldnt there be a bigger gap between the two?

and Is 3529 for a single GPU ok?

EDIT: Ran 06 once again with fresh install and got better scores.

06 is weighted very heavily by the CPU scores, unlike 05 which doesn't include the CPU scores at all..

Since the CPU is the same - and scores very badly in 06 - the 06 score shows much less of a benefit from SLi compared to 05.

That's why 06 is shown to favour the dual core CPUs over single core.

The differences are sort of proportional.

When futuremark comes out with a new 3dMark, the scores are always a lot lower than the previous version due to hardware progression, and additional testing.

Hello guys I just got my m9700 in today and ran 3dmark05 and the highest score are 1920X1200 was 5000. I updated the processor driver to the turion and still only 5000 I have the Turion ML-44 and Dual 7900 gs with SLI enabled. What else should I do to get it higher?\

Thanks

lower the resolution. run 3dmark on the stock settings

We're all running '05 at 1024x768 resolution.. you should see a giant improvement based on that.

Although having said that I scored 7893 - nearly 8000 - at 1920x1200.

Make sure you set the following before running:

Control Panel->Power Management: Set it to 'Always On' to disable PowerNow!

In the nVidia control panel go to the Application Preferences tab, select 3DMark05 in the right hand drop-down and modify the settings below to 'High Performance' rather than 'Quality' (third setting down IIRC).

Apply those settings.

Also double check that SLi is turned on in the SLi tab.

Then re-run 3DMark05
