queztions answered1. When you pick it up does it have any flex?
the entire laptop, itself, doesn't have any flex...the screen will flex (no more or less than any other laptop, really - just if you twist it intentionally), but it's actually better than a 15.4" screen (probably because it's smaller, i don't think it's because it's made with any more durable of components).
2. Do the screen hinges feel solid?
yes. this is a good question, because on some Dell's and Acer's, i've seen the hinges either wear or outright break. but this laptop is pretty well built; amazingly well for the price.
3. Do you think that this laptop will be easy to upgrade to windows Vista?
Vista is a Micro$lop product, so i doubt anything will easily upgrade to it.
4. How's that keyboard? Mushy, firm, etc.
i'm hard on keyboards; i mash the keys hard as i'm a pretty fast typist. as a result, my fingers will get caught under the neighboring keys, but again, this is no different than a few other, higher-priced/quality laptops i've worked on.
the celeron is fast enough; battery life is long enough for me (2 hours+); i dig the DVD writer big time; and i upgraded the hd (i had a spare 100gb lying around) and ram (2gb of ram at Fry's in California ran me $170) just cuz i figured i was going to be using this for a while. i'm "downsizing" from a larger, heavier (yet more powerful) Acer TravelMate 8201...so far, i'm very pleased.
