Font and resizing windows problem

I have a Travelmate 8204 and i've sometimes had a problem with viewing all the text/buttons in certain windows. For example i can't see all of the buttons in this VCM window, plus i can't resize the window. Also, i know there's a button in the bottom right of this window i just can't get to it. I've had simular problems in other programs too, just wondering if anyone has a solution to this problem. Thanks in advance.

what about dpi settings? screen resolution? r u using a certain theming on ur desktop?
it would not be a vcm issue if it happens with some other apps as well
inside display->appearance->advanced, there is a set up for the (active/inactive) bar size, u might want to try to expand them.

cheers ...

my screen res is 1680x1050 (native) i've played with different resolutions, settings, etc.. nothing works. I was just giving VCM as an example to my problem figuring other 8204 owners had the same program. Everything is default as far as settings and themes go. It's just aggrevating that i can't resize certain windows in order to see everything that is supposed to be in the window. thanks for your help though

Did you fix the problem?

I suspect that it's the same problem I have mentioned here: http://www.notebookforums.com/thread200107.html

My guess is it's some kind of Acer default settings, that mess up some windows and programs.
But I can't figure out which.

Funny thing is, that when installing a new Ati Catalyst driver, after reboot the screen looks quite different (much smaller icons, font size and so on), and now the programs I've been having problems with work just fine.
This look is only untill I reboot the next time, and then everything is back to (Acer) "normal" and the problems are back.

I'm going on vacation next week, and planning to use my laptop as a GPS device, but the program I wanted to use, is totally messed up.
Looks fine on my desktop PC, and during the first reboot after installing new drivers.

Regards
Michael
