Need Help Choosing...

Thread Starter
So, I'm getting a computer in order to go off to college!
Here is a bit of what I would be doing with the stated computer:
Using microsoft office, powerpoint, excel, etc, surfing the internet, IMing, lpaying games, running searches, etc.
I will not be doing too much movie viewing or music downloading, but I will be doing some picture loading.
Now, I have found the H Pavilion dv5234us, and I think It's the computer I would want, especially b/c it comes with XP pro
What do you all think? Are HPs reliable, durable, and problem free?
I have heard lots of complaints that they don't last long, and they wear out.
I probably won't be taking it a lot of places, but I will be toting it around some...
Any help, suggestions, ideas?
thanks!

"Playing games" is going to be the most stressful on a machine..

First person shooters, stuff like that max'ing the system out.

You would be well advised to read thru this before buying any machine if you wanting to play the latest games.

Mobile Graphics Card Comparison Chart

If you're looking for a gaming laptop, Or doing graphic intensive work the GPU should be your top priority. GPU is the "video card" for those of you who don't know.

Even if you're not into games, keep in mind that Windows itself "likes" a fast video card and the new Vista will be VERY graphics intensive.
For anything that is graphic intensive the GPU is more important than the CPU in most cases.

PS: If the info in the above link helps you, how about posting something in the thread to that effect.
