system benchmarking program

what do you guys think the best system benchmarking program is.

I'm thinking about installing Sisandra. It's tests won't overwork my laptop, will they?

You should probably run a couple of benchmarks to really test performance:

Sisoft Sandra
3DMark05
3DMark05
PCMark05
SuperPI
HD Tune

If the tests do "overwork" the laptop and cause it to crash, simply reboot it and don't run the test again. None of these tests will permanently damage a laptop, unless you've modded it to the limit (GPU freqs, CPU multiplier, etc.).
