The Runaround?

Well I only ordered my lappy on Monday, so I'm not in the dire straights some folks are saying they are in... The only reason I am posting this is because I feel I was given the runaround today.

I called to ask why my machine is back on Phase 1 when I was told it was at Phase 3 yesterday. I was talking to a sales department person and they told me that I needed to talk to Finance. I was thinking to myself - what the BLEEP?! My financing should be long done by now. The finance person puts me on hold for 3 minutes or so (no problem at all in fact all these folks are very nice on the phone). Then she tells me that my order was mistakingly put in as a "quote" and not a "sale." I'm thinking - wtf? That doesn't make sense at all. My credit card is already attached to the sale so how could it be a quote? This is when I started getting the feeling they were just trying to tell me something to get me off the phone.

My honest feeling is that they are bogged down with orders and the financing department is having some issues with it. I'm still very excited about my AW laptop and I am not bashing them yet. If I have to wait 6-8 weeks for this machine I will cancel my order and get a laptop from someone else though. I need this for many reasons a bit sooner than 6-8 weeks.

I'm hoping the die-hards here don't jump down my throat for a little trepidation. I shouldn't have read all the negative posts here hehe. If I have to call these guys every day to keep my machine moving I will though.

you realize there is a bug on the website that makes it go back to phase 1 right?

I know that now. Although I don't understand them telling me the sale was a quote. That makes no sense at all. I'm going to step back and not nitpick this for about a week and see what happens though. I think I just got paranoid from reading all the negativity around here. I'm actually very excited to get this laptop as it is my first one.

We aren't going to jump on you....I'd be concerned about my machine after spending several thousand on it. I think your idea of just waiting a lil bit to see what happens is a good idea. If nothing gets taken care of by then, you should be concerned and start figuring out wtf is going on.

Honestly, I really didn't know what it was until someone told me. I found an animated .gif of it with a "Bang" flag and thought it was funny...so I put it up there. Then Filippo pimped it out...so I kept it.

Alienware messed up my billing as well. It took a few phone calls and I guess they had to speak to the woman in charge there and hten they CALLED ME can you believe that? Finally it got worked out, just in time for all the parts to be backordered!
