Problem with ThinkVantage System Update v2

I cant seem to get System Update v2 to run, it executes i click next to check for updates, and it says Searching for Agent Updates... Gets to about 8% and says An Error Occuried while gathering user information. All the other thinkpad apps work perfect. Even tried uninstalling and re-installing and didnt fix the problem. Anyone have any ideas?

I have exactly the same problem on my T41, and so far I've also been unable to resolve it. If I do figure it out I will post here. In the mean time, any advice is welcome.

System Update v2

Hi,

I have the same problem with t30. I have called technical support. They made me update the bios and the controller.
migr/42694, migr/42711. After the updates, I still had not sucess. just thought it might work for your laptops.
