Stupid....I personally feel that a notebook should not be over 15 inches. 17 inches is even too big for me. A 20 inch notebook is crazy. It should not even be called a notebook/laptop. If you're gonna get something like this, you're better off with a desktop - not only would it be cheaper, it would also be more powerful. This 20 incher only has a 7300 graphics card, if I'm not wrong. Thats just pathetic. SOmething this big should have like triple 7900GTXs - you get my point. Anyways, I feel that anyone who buys this would be an idiot.

I think its great for like people who want real desktop performance/screen realestate without lugging 50 + lbs around and a monitor (20 lbs).

AbN610, hold your tongue and don't bash a machine that wasn't built for you. I move a lot (every 4 months, sometimes less), and since I'm usually flying across (or between) continents, I can't very well take a lot of things with me. A laptop like this is built for people like me, the ones who don't necessarily want something mobile in the sense of taking it to Starbucks, but more mobile in the sense that I can take it on board a plane with the rest of my luggage.

Personally, the performance isn't enough for me, given how much I game. But for many of the other people I know in my situation, this is a great laptop for them. People like us can't carry TVs around, so we need something that will double as our TV and home-away-from-home workstation. This laptop IMHO is a great idea, and if it had a more powerful graphics card I'd be all over it.

I think its pretty cool, I like inovations, the Dell 2010 is also a cool "notebook". I don't think I'd ever buy one, but I know some people would, so why flame it?

You're wrong. 7600, not 7300. EDIT: I should add that I saw one on display in my local Micro Center. You do a double-take when you first see it because it is almost comically large. It does have a certain presence to it though...

pfff

pretty bad since it only comes with a 7600. for a laptop that big and powerful it should have atleast a 7900gs

I played with one at a store, the lid is like 5 inches thick.

yes, the thing is gigantor. I tried to pick one up, it wasn't happening.

if I were to buy that, I'd much rather buy a DT...cheaper, and more upgradable lol.
And besides, its gonna cost me an arm AND a leg to get that lappy!

Yeah, the lid is just far too large. Not that the machine is portable anyway, but the screen is just mammoth.

The HD-DVD drive is sexy though...

This is an absolutely ridiculous idea. Like others have already stated, it needs to be extremely powerful to justify its large size, which it isn't. This race to make bigger and bigger laptops is just so comical to me. They aren't even laptops anymore in my opinion when you go past the 15 inchers. Good riddance.
