Latest bios for my Alien?

Hi,

Reading some other thread I surfed into started 10 years ago, I realized my Alien needed bios flash. Bugeater, who is adorable genius and KIND....HELPED ME BOARD THE MOTHERSHIP FOR 1.07 FLASH.....given I am banned being second owner. (Alineware support, )
The flashing worked flawlessly, Sentia booted immediately from the burned ISO image in the optical drive, did not even have to enter and change boot sequence in bios...whole thing was adorable and nobody died. I am only sorry I can't do this every day...that is how adorable it was.

But.....the updrade to 1.07 did not allow me to use Fn+F10 to disable touchpad....which was one of my goals.

So......can other 223 owners tell me which bios version they currently have including this 1.10 thingy I see on Uniwill (not the mothership), where they got any beyond 1.07 if they did, & if any let them disable the touchpad?????

Thanks, guys!!!

....OK....and.....

Arch,

OK, ten four; not sure how attached I am to the logoscreen though it's nice, I would sacrifice it if another flash would be a really good thing 2 do.....but my real issues R: what is the 1.10 upgrade? Has anyone with a 223 gotten this one from Uniwill? And.....will it allow me to disable the touchpad??? Given I now have 1.07....is getting beyond that a good thing? Wil it help my little Alien?

Also please note, I went thru the trouble of using an online utility to get all the bios string numbers and that stuff, went 2 a biosupdate site---THAT'S ALL THEY DO, you pay them.... downloaded their pretty cute software, it read everything, conveyed the info to them, and just found mail from one of their techies who asked me to call, I did and he was like....sorry, Alienware bios entirely proprietary and while we can help U with your Optiplex, our hands R tied with your lappy. (Ya THINK????)

And.....DUH, I have received no response to the email I sent to Alienware support (NOT ) AND while I Di-In think I could be anymore disgusted with them than I was, like yesterday....I AM (EVEN MORE DISGUSTED).

So, guys....can anyone give me any of the above data?
Thanks,
Jill

Important Update!

Well, I half apologize, given i just received mail from AW WHICH i WILL PASTE.

Thank you for contacting the Alienware Technical Support Team.

The "YOU CAN NOT ENTER THE MOTHERSHIP as second owner" part.....it is wut it is and disgusting....BUT ....1) if he says 1.08 IS NOT YET AVAILABLE, HOW COME IT IS ON UNIWILL ALONG WITH 1.10???????????????? Any geniuses out there who can figure this out? It's important, right?

2) Please use the database link he included; it says I can already disable the touchpad via accessing Mouse window.....but it might be I installed special mousware....but I have no such option in my 223.....though I will try to see if I can get to it some other way. It also says using Fn+f10 does not work with the 223, only the other Sentia.....though they are SO SIMILAR.

3) I must say.....I now know things I did not before, hope same might be true for anyone reading this.
For now...I am going to chill on the additional bios updates.

Eureka

For whatever it's worth to anyone out there, employing the info the guy from AW mailed me (I resent them far less right now than once), I saw the mouseware I had loaded had killed my Synaptics. So I reinstalled the drivers from original disk, my mouse menu changed to the good AW Synaptics menu with all the indigenous tabs.....and so, I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO DISABLE THE TOUCHPAD!!!!!!!!

Let's hear it!!!!
You just gotta hang in ....

Edit: oK, earlier, I emailed AW support to thank them for the nuclear info they gave me.....while still banishing me to earth from the Mothership. It made me very happy to do this; there is no joy in resentment or the disgusting which generates it.
But theirs R still, open & shut, totally sucky business practices; I should never have had to go to an outside vendor to get a new KB for $108, forget if they think they build cache by shutting anyone out of their knowledge base or bios upgrades...in any consumer over the age of 12.....they as dumb as rocks. They will C over time that only making a better moustrap and supporting it in fully responsible, responsive ways earns the goodies over time.

But I am objective little human and today, I am grateful 2 them.
