Set of USB powered Speakers

Hi guys,
Im getting a laptop for college and I am going to be living off campus. I know that the speaker system in the laptop are going to be weak (s96j), so I want to get usb powered speakers because I want speakers that I can also carry in the laptop bag. I know that usb powered speakers dont sound the best, But i would like a set to atleast be loud enough so anyone in a dorm room can hear it.

Here is one i have been looking at:

edit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16836201001

I dont know if the stats given for these speakers are good or not.
I know there are those logitech usb powered speakers, but those are too costly for me. Maybe i would want something in the 50$ price range.

What do you think about these? Any suggestions?
Thx everybody

Dead link. That said, I will re-iterate that usb is limited to about 2.5 watts per USB connection and recommend getting a small set of speakers with their own battery or a wall wart.

ok link fixed, sorry about that. So your saying that there is no possible way that a set of usb speakers can sound good? I have no experience with speaker tech, stats, and so on so im sorry that i cant understand that opinion clearly.
The speakers say something about the same technology used in lcd tv speakers... i dont know..

Here are another set, same type of speakers, just different color
Just in case the first link becomes dead again

slim panels sound liek crap. I have a set of Benwin USB speakers and i can tell you they work alright for movies, games, and even (very) casual music listening...if you want trully good sound from your laptop use headphones, or GOOD speakers via an Audigy2 PCMCIA card....but USB works just fine if you wanna watch a movie with friends

The type of speakers is referred to as electrostatic speakers and can be decent at reproducing high frequencies at times, but for low frequencies is very lacking(Unable to move very much air to create high amplitude low frequencies), as a result they are not considered 'good' speakers by many for listening.

i'm not too sure whether its available in the states, but i'll recommend u the Creative i-Trigue 2200.. its a set of 2.0 speakers which is pretty decent...

there are other 2.0 which u can go for.

there's Klipsch Promedia Ultra 2.0, Creative Gigaworks T20 and Altec Lansing MX5020, which are more pricey...

THanks alot for the input.
Ill think about the Benwin speakers or maybe these. This is good enough for my purposes, decent sound for movie watching and such. I guess if i try them out and post a review on it on newegg, since noone has. Thx everybody
