Intel WLAN software patches

Intel has announced that it has a new updated software that has been patched because of 3 vulnerabilities which sounded critical to me.
News source: PC World

However, I'm wondering when will ASUS provide the OEM version for Asus Z70Va.

Any ideas?

I have declined to do it since its just the whole ****ing software again and not just an update!

erm, where did you find the updated 50+ mb file?

The generic software + driver is 129mb from intel.com.

warning: if you go above PROset version 9.0.4.8, ASUS' ATK0100 software may conflict with the wireless driver.

thanks. But the question is still unanswered. Will Asus provide an update to their drivers as well? It doesn't seem like a good idea to use the generic one at intel.com.

Any ideas when or if ever? Or does Asus NEVER update their drivers? That'd be a baaaad follow service...

I wish I knew when. Asus doesn't update drivers nearly as often a Intel, but they do update them periodically. Unfortunately, I couldn't tell you when to expect the next update, however given the security issue with older drivers, they will hopefully come out with a new update soon.

I'm not speaking with any authority here, but Asus strikes me as the type of company that would upgrade drivers if there were a reason, but not if there weren't. So, in this case, being a security threat, I think it's safe to say that they will.

This is all just hypothetical though. I honestly have no idea if they will or not...
