Cleaning your glossy screen...

Thread Starter
Hey guys.

What do you use to clean your glossy screen LCDs with? I just got my W3J, and I feel bad to take Windex and a paper towel to it, seams too rough (though I may just be paranoid).

Cheers!

I use eyeglass cleaner and fine cloth to clean it. Paper towels will scratch your screen!

Do not use Windex...

This stuff is the bomb:

Alcohol and Ammonia Free!

Microfiber cloth is the best one to clean a LCD screen, it will not make any scratch on a surface of screen, paint....

I can't find micro fiber cloths anywhere local.

I currently use a damp dish towel to clean my screen

my screen only had dust, no fingerprints or anything, so i just used a few shots of compressed air. worked surprisingly well, and no little collections of dust that you tend get at the corners when you wipe the screen down.

Try an autopart store or an eyeglass store. Eyeglass store will have the smaller microfiber cloths, while the autopart store would have a fairly large one.

Really? I didn't know that auto parts stores had these...what do they use these for? Not for washing the car surely--they use chamois for that...

Windex will eat away youe screen. Dont use any window cleaners, they all have ammonia. paper towels can scratch, avoid them!

To make your own special cleaner just make a 50/50 water isopropyl alcohol solution. Normal rubbing alcohal and tap water will do the trick. *source*

You can get a good microfiber cloth at Click camera.

It good for cleaning glasses, camera lenses, rifle scopes and LCDs.

Should be all you need for fingerprints and smudges on the LCD and the brushed metal lid, but for dust, compresses air, like ^ he ^ said, is good cuz you can get the corners of the screen.

Right, big auto store should carry micro fiber cloth. After washing, the car owners need to try the body with micro fiber cloth without any scratch on the paint. Even to wax a car's body, the micro fiber only a main cloth to wipe the good job. End up, the car will be shine and look like new. To clean up the LCD screen, to apply to this cloth is a good idea.

Hi All,

Is the micro chamois available here:
https://store.klearscreen.com/produc...products_id=40

the same as a microfibre towel?

Which of these products would be better?

There is also a microfibre window towel.. can this be used on the glossy lcd?

No, the regular cotton towel's material is thicker than microfiber cloth. They also make a scratch on the surface of LCD screen.

I use a microfiber cloth from the auto store also, I wet a small part of it with water to clean the screen then I use the dry part to wipe it dry. Works real well.

it's the same thing

I dont know about you guys but a mildly wet paper towel does wonders, followed up with a dry one.

And it doesnt scratch your screen or leave smudges or stuff.
