iTunes + Media Buttons (minimized mode)

Hey guys

I reinstalled everything and everything is working great on my new lappy, but I can't figure out how I had iTunes to recognize the global hotkeys on my front media buttons while minimized. I am using MultiPlugin like earlier and they work, just not when iTunes isn't directly active on screen.

Thanks

If there is another alternative I would be interested, since I hate having to start up that program before opening iTunes every time.

I use itunescontrol. It automatically runs itunes when it starts up.

I found if you change it to Mode 4 it works, if anyone else needs to know. Mutli Plugin is great!

Can someone tell me what MultiPlugin is and where I can get it?

www.aqua-soft.org is were you can get it and it is a plugin for itunes to make it skinnable and take care of a few other options.

i'd be careful with aquasoft. When I installed the multi plugin, it ****ed up a lot of font settings etc. not just related to iTunes (Mozilla). I ended up having to system restore cause it did strange things to the registry.

i just tried the iTunes Control, and that's what you want. A cool feature of it is it displays the album artwork/song info when you change the song, you can have it show up as a transparent box, very configurable. (or not of course and just have it do the job of changing songs).

Couldn't get iTunes control to work for me! It didn't do anything when I pushed my media keys, and I coudn't get to the settings when I right clicked on the system tray icon!

To get the media keys to work, you select the function you want, and at the bottom it shows the default. You have to clear what it says, then press the button you want to use for that function. Great App, I love it, Is their any way you can get it to find album art for you?

Yeah, i don't know why but the first few times i tried to go to settings it didn't work. but then it worked. haven't had a problem since. Just reload it. to configure the keys, highlight the current action (like win + C) and press the media button you want. incidentally I use the stop button to display the current song.

yeah. for mine it did it automatically. if the album art is already connected to the song, then all you have to do is in the configuration, go to album art options, and have it display the artwork.

I use Microsoft IntelliType Pro 5.5 and it works well with Itunes. Minimized also.
