Asus Z70va USB Issues

Hello everyone. I'm having some really bizarre USB issues. After I plug the laptop back into the AC after using it on battery, all of the USB ports simply act dead.

When I try to disable them in Device Manager (to re-enable them afterwards), device manager freezes. There is power going into the ports (since my mouse glows) but there is no response.

A restart fixes the issue but it's a huge hassle. Anyone experience anything similar?

Here are the drivers I'm using and the programs I have running:

Intel PRO Wireless Drivers 9.0.39
Marvell Gigabit LAN Driver 8.49.1.3
Omega Radeon Drivers (Catalyst 6.5)
Razer CopperHead Drivers (6.09-6.17i)
Realtek Audio Drivers (came on the cd, don't know version)
RICOH Card Reader Drivers 2.3
Synaptics Driver 8.1.2
WIDCOMM 5.0.1.2500 Bluetooth Drivers

I currently have running:
AVG Free
Comodo Firewall
Windows Defender
Powermenu 1.5
Stickes 5.2b
Approcket 1.2.1
Notebook Hardware Control 2.0 Pre-Release 2

If anyone else has experienced this I would really appreciate any help you could offer.

Thanks,

Andrew

may be trying to (a) update usb controller driver and (b) un.check power saving option on all usb ports within hardware device management?

hey there. no it's not that.

For some reason it's the new NHC that's doing it. I guess I'll have to go back to 1.10b3 which didn't cause my any problems.

i figured this one out. for some reason one of the usb buses wasn't working properly. What I did was leave all the peripherals installed and unplugged the power. After plugging in the power the USB bus reinstalled itself and the problem now doesn't exist.

Hope this helps anyone out there with the same problem.
