Im looking for a stylish, non-nerd looking backpack - Page 2

i like crumpler, but i just cant seem to justify the price tag. here where i live it cost hk$2000 or us$257. ouch, but i have to say it looks good.

i have looked it over and i have to say that i did not see "geek, nerd, or dork" written on it, and i wouldnt think you would look gay with this over your shoulder walking around MacEwan Hall. better then anything you would find from mec. (mind you mec is cheaper)

i checked this out at circuit city, it seemed pretty good...says it fits 17" notebooks, but i didnt have a 1705 on me at the time to check for certain

Who in their right mind would pay upwards of $500 for a backpack!! This darn thing is up for sale on ebay (item 150052323889) for $500! Rare? No wonder they are discontinued! Maybe no one wanted to pay 5x what it was worth!!!

My buddy only paid less than $200 ($150 if I remember correctly).

They probably want $500 on ebay because it is discontinued...

Anyone checked out the Jansport Notebook Station? I brought that one, and ... now 4 of my friends got it to. Its very nice. Alot of space, without looking spacy ;-).

Look at http://www.jansport.com/internationa...ucts/K310.html for more info :-)

do you happen to live in europe? dont see much availability for north america....and what notebook are you putting in there, will a 1705 work?

I got the stock backpack for my 9400. It's great in every aspect except that Dell's logo is everywhere; I need a bag that won't scream "$2200 LAPTOP INSIDE! COME AND GET IT!"

i just found this.....its basically half off the regular price with the rebate(-15) and the google checkout option (-10). the google checkout option is ending today. so you get a 46 dollar bag for ~ 22-25 dollars, depending on tax. the reviews say its a tight fit for the 1705, but it works and they like it. gonna get one today, cant beat that price

I had the same issue with the kensington contour backpack which is similar to this backpack. The E1705 simply doesnt fit in it. I don't think kensington has any bags fitting 17" laptops, and their advertising is misleading. These backpacks are ideal size for 15" laptops, 17" is only theoratically possible if you stretch the hell out of it

I'd already told him the fit loosens but he just keeps ressurecting threads...

Just got my Targus XL backpack and I think it's wonderful. Not only does the 17" laptop fit comfortably, the whole backpack is the right size for me. The kensington simply is too small in general and especially for me it just looks and feels small on my back. Also I totally prefer the looks of the targus - nice black and blue material much better than the boring all black kensington.

Bottom line, I hated the kensington from the first second I got it but the targus I liked as soon as I took it out of the box.

$200 is cheap compared to what I paid for my Zero Halliburton rolling aluminum case that I use when I travel with my M1710. http://www.zerohalliburton.com/compu...uxe/DZ9-GM.jsp
