Hi

i recived my 9400 last week and im not so happy about the screen.

i got the original 1440 *900 and it sucks.

first of all the light leakage on the bottom, it ruins about 1\3 of the screen
and it looks filthy... i cant play, reed and watch movies with this screen.

so i contacted dell and now waiting for the answer.

so my question is. if i choose the better screen with true life would it fix thees problems.

and have anyone got their screen changed bocouse of thees, and did it got better. becouse i know im not the only one with this problem.

and the last thing. i got my comp monday this week so how much time do i have before this return warenty runs out.

THX

Hmm take a picture for us to see what you mean. The truelife also had some lightleakage at the bottom. I have the same screen and have some small light leakage at the bottom, I only notice it at boot up when I have an all black screen. I was watching a movie the other night and didnt even notice it, even tough I had black bars at the top and bottom.

that looks pretty bad, might want to get dell to replace it.

I have recently seen quite a number of horrible Samsung 17" WXGA+ LCDs. I'll call those "normal" but seriously this is something else.... my advise is to contact Dell immediately.... Good luck.

Well, not perfect but a heck of a lot better (for the WUXGA atleast). I'm not sure how the WXGA LG's are though. And holycrapwow! That amount of leakage is really not normal or acceptable in any LCD.

That is the worst light leak I have ever seen. If your new screen is just as bad, tell them you want another one. I had to go through 2 different sceens just to get a decent one, which now has a dead pixel.
Ehh... I don't think it's as bad as it looks. Look at the movement of the LED lights. That camera must have a really slow shudder speed, so the light leakage is multiplied.

I'm assuming yours is about as bad as mine. It is pretty annoying. And it takes quite a while to get use to it.... but you do get use to it.

here are some pics of my new screen.

dell told me that i shudent take pics in the dark wile i had a total dark screensaver on....

the only thing that got better with this screen is that there is no dead pixels compared to my old one that had one inte the corner but still i rather have some dead pixels than this piss screen. it looks like some one with very filthy fingers have been all over the screen...

a question for I love Ecotec.

what screen dp you have?

i got the samsung 1440*900

and a question to every one that have the same screen as i
dosent it looks dirty?

you can see it best on a white screen.
I have no idea how you check that...
It is "normal" for the Samsung WXGA+ LCD to display white as yellowish white.... I should know as I recently went through 5 LCD exchanges (all Samsung) & all are a lot worse than my original LG....

I could be wrong but I think maybe you need to change your graphics card as well...

i dont really know how to check in windows but i know know that if you open the display you will know but im sure you wont.

there is nothing wrong with the graphics. i have tryed wit some external monitors and they all looks good.

and yes white looks a litle yellow

samsung is suposed to be the best with screens but Wtf is this?
