I was just given a Compaq Presario 900. It's the first laptop I will have the pleasure of owning, but far from the first I have used. My real curiosity is the same as many laptop owners: How far can I go with gaming? And more specifically...can I play WoW on it? Heh. I'm really just curious what I can upgrade on the thing, and where to get the best deals. The current specs are:
1.33 AMD Athlon 1500+
256 Mb RAM
18Gb harddrive
As you can see, it's hardly ideal at this point. I can upgrade the memory to a full Gig and the HD to 80Gb or so for around $200. What I'm really curious of is the graphics. Is there any possible way to install a 3D chipset in a laptop. I have read that it's pretty much no go, but I wanted to make sure.
I know it's fairly standard for a new guy on a forum to rip right into "HW DO I MKE MY COMPZ AWWWESOME>?!". I've used this forum for enough hypothetical laptop research that I figured this was the perfect place for such a question. Sorry if it's been asked 1,000 times.
If anyone has any other suggestions to pimp this thing out, fire away. I'd love to hear it. Thanks!
