MX1000 questions

Thread Starter
to those who have the regular RF MX1000 mouse,
1) how convenient is it traveling with that charger/base station thingie? - i'd imagine that'd be really annoying trying to set that up for 30 mins in a cafe somewhere, just to tear it down in a few minutes.

2) does the mouse work with a normal USB receiver - like one form another logitech 2.4GHz mouse?

to those with the BT version,
3)how easy is it so sell the keyboard it comes with?

4) do you need to use the USB BT2 adapter if your laptop already has BT? - i heard you need it for setup, but not after that. so if i sell the adapater, then have to reformat my HDD would the MX1000BT become useless?

5)How 'bout the keyboard (mx5000 or dinovo, but mainly mx5000 cos its cheaper)? does it need the USB BT stick? for setup?

and one more for everybody
6) has anyone tried ordering spare parts from logitech? how are they with selling you spare's for stuff you never bought in the first place? like if i got the mx5000, sold the keyboard and USB BT stick, then got another BT stick from logitech spare parts?

thanks,
jeff
cheers,
jeff

mx1000 is ok and but you would be much better off buying a razer or g5. if your going to game dont use wireless. i own a g5 and a mx610 and the mx610 sux hardcore in games. had a mx1000 but sold it because it was a little big and i didnt like the battery running out on me

How long would your traveling be?

I have a BT MX1000. The build-in Li-ion battery can last me around 3 weeks. If your business travel usually within 3 weeks, then you shouldn't have to worry about the charge issue.

aintz, i had a mx610 and found performance ok in games, but ergonomically horrible - hurt my hand. too narrow and tall. if razer made a wireless one i'd be all over it. i find their mice very confy and everybody says performance is great.

tseng, i'm talkin about going down the road to the internet cafe for a few hours, for when home/work internet is too slow and crippled, so i'm not worried about the battery at all. i'm just worried it'd be a hassle it set up the base station only to pack it up again to move a couple hours later. I'd hate to buy an expensive mouse and then find myself not using it beacuse its inconvenient to set up.

i dont find there to be that much a problem with wires because it doesnt take that much space and that usb receiver thing is pretty anoying almost broke my usb cuz it sticks out
