Bluetooth Stereo Headphones, Which and How?

Hey guys,

I've been looking into picking up a pair of bluetooth stereo headphones and have a few questions. I've read a lot of forums about the compatibility issues with the Bluetooth TM350 and all the driver bs that you need to go through to get the a2DP profile to work. I can't get a clear answer or find a side-by-side comparison. I just want a wrap-around headphone pair that work with my vzw v3c as a decent bt headset and dell i9300 (with the 350 and widcomm .1100 stack). Instead of listening to mp3's though, I would like to be able to use the headphones to do some editing in cubase/reason (does the BT High Quality Audio device work with audio programs too?)

Right now, I'm hung up between the Jabra bt620's and the motorola ht820's. Anybody have either and might have som insight? I heard the moto's audio quality isnt as good as the jabras, but not 100% sure. Anyone?

Anything comments or advice would be great. Thanks!

I have the HT820s and I love them. They work fine with the TM350 and Ive had no problems so far with them.

There are a few decent bluetooth headsets out these days. I found a really good set here for $55.99 (huge discount from the MSRP of $200).

As far as sound editing, I would recommend not using anything but a wired studio headset (especially if your mastering).

I certainly don't have any intentions to do any mastering with headphones anyway but i appreciate the thought. That's a field better left to a nicely tuned room with decent monitors, and not in the stifled space found in a pair of headphones. What I need is a solution to be able to do simple drum and synth programming in Reason/etc without having to be jacked into my MOTU interface and studio setup (for airplanes/long trips/etc.)

Just need a simple set of headphones that utilize bluetooth to route the audio signal since my laptop's headphone jack is broken off and i get no sound off of the onboard SigmaTel card out of the speakers since it happened. Dell claimed it was "wear-and-tear" so they weren't much help. Is it easy enough to route audio from the Reason host audio program (or WMP or Winamp) to the Bluetooth High-Quality Audio profile or these bluetooth headsets?

And for god sake which one has the best audio quality? I know you 820 lovers out there love your sets but are they better than the Jabra BT620's?

Any help is a generosity...

I also have the Motorala ht820

Having never used the Jabra I can't really really compare the two. But the sound quality is really good (not really an audiophile).

During gaming I have them wired to my Audiology 2 PMCIA sound card.

When I am playing music or working around my office I have it tethered via bluetooth. They also tethered no problem with my Axim x51v

Like I said the sound quality seems really good to me. The few times I have played BF2 and Oblivion with the headphones set up for Bluetooth the stereo sounded great footsteps behind me and bullets wizzing by my head.

well i think i'm going to give them a shot then... enough people say the sound is good enough. I'm not looking for audiophile quality (I have the MOTU rig for that...)

But what my question is: does the bluetooth audio profile continue to use the onboard audio card for sound reproduction (my headphone slot is broken thus no headphone sound/on-board speaker sound)? Or does it route it into it's own sort of hardware? very confused where the sound processing happens with bluetooth audio profiles.

<shrug>

please help me

I don't think bluetooth headphones are allowed to be used on airplanes - there again the way its going here today in the UK we are soon only going to be allowed on planes naked after a cavity search, forget taking anything electrical onboard.
