Screen blinking on e1505

Thread Starter
I have an e1505 with the x1400 and i keep noticing that my screen blinks on-off-on briefly when I first turn on the laptop or when i switch from a/c to battery power. is this normal? im assuming that its the ATI powerplay feature working

My 2 month old E1505 does this too. it's not too anoying, but ya I dont think it should be doing it either.

When i first got it, the laptop only did it when changing from A/C to battery and it only did it once for when it changed the screen brightness. now it does it when first booting, and then after I do something else (regardless of if plugged in or not). After it has been on a bit, it seams to stop.

I got ATI x1300.

Other than that little issue, my lappy is happy

I just wish someone could provide a hacked and unlocked BIOS to really get things top of the line.

Mine does this too. I think it is normal.

So its not only mine which does it, mine blinks periodically as though its having a kind of spasm after that its ok, sometimes the screen dims then comes up to the setting which I had adjusted to. This happens infrequently. It happens more when I run the laptop on batteries at max power saving. The machine apart from that is great very satisfied with the performance, considering I have the base unit with everything as base as you can including the graphics card.

How about updating your graphics drivers or bios.

Hm, my X1400-based E1505 only blinks once, and that's only ever been when Windows comes up the first time after rebooting from an ATI driver install or update. It shouldn't be blinking as often as you are mentioning. Even when unplugging my system from the wall, the display just dims instead of blinking first.

Agree

I agree that the screen should not blink. Mine did, occasionally, before I updated the BIOS and the ATI Driver recently (fingers crossed ), but not since then.
