Hey,

I really wanted to get a Z96J with a core 2 duo (merom) like now. And the only place that has be mentioned on selling them is Geared2play.com Everyone on this site seems to be purchasing their S96/Z96J's from GenTechpc.com and I would buy from them as well but they dont offer the core 2 duo yet (Ken any idea when your going to get those in?) So my real question is has anyone done bussiness with Geared2play and what was their service like? Thanks...

There are some Merom CPUs available from gray market imported from Asia and Europe that you can find on eBay, we are waiting for the official US release I think should be end of August/early September.

Is geared2play a credible dealer? forum sponsor? I stumbled onto their website but noticed they're in brooklyn NY. That's a major red flage in the camera industy but I don't know these guys, are they credible?

Geared2play is more than crediable. They are an excellent company and I would highly suggest ordering from them. Talk to Eddie, he is a great guy and will help you with anything you need to know. I ordered a W3J and I got nothing but help and all his help was really quick. Go for it.

As your can check his reseller ratings if you want.

I know that Eddie from Geared2Play has been very active on this forum in the past, and has been very helpful here in answering questions. I don't think I've seen any posts from him lately, though. Don't quite know why.

Him and I ran into some issues with the mods in the past [not ASUS forum mods, the other guys]...
Whether it was a personal choice or not to leave NBF... the guy can get lippy.

He's on the NBF banned users list, though the last time this issue came up, he claimed his ban was "voluntary."

It all makes sense now...

Let's get back to talking about Geared2Play's customer experiences, please

I have heard nothing but good things about his customer service. I know that JPZ over at notebook review bought from them:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=70451
If you are a member of those forums you might want to PM him.

They have a very good rating at reseller ratings:

There are customer comments lower in page.

By looking at your sig you are going to be one very happy camper very soon!

I expect you will be very happy with your Z96J from Geared2Play.

I bought a z70va from Geared2Play last year, back when there were screen issues and not everyone was able to fill z70va orders ... Eddie said he had good screens to fill orders with, and he was as good as his word.

Thanks, Eddie!

Sasha you know very well why i left this forum and vowed not to return. I was on the banned users list by the mods and owners of this forum for years back when the owners here sold laptops then stopped selling and went into the advertising market (good move). The reason i was banned was becuase i defended my self against false claims and acusations by the mods and owner. I was later invited back to the forum by a mod. Later i left voluntarily becuase i was mistaken for an advetising troll from another company. No names but the person i was mistaken for is in this thread. I wont be back again unless only to clear my name. You can find me and my advice on other more welcoming places....and yes the meroms are grey market and we are the only dealer in the states integrating them.

have had nothing but great customer service from G2P. Prompt email replies, quick shipping, friendly service. I sent in my Z70V for an audio card replacement and it came back working 100%, no extra charges, plus they cleaned the screen and fixed a loose hinge too! Definitely recommended in my book.
