Cpt great to hear it came for ya! Did you by chance get the AW backpack? If so can we see some pics of the inside and review of quality of the bag itself?

How does the graphic card run at games? does half-life 2 work? or css?
How about bf2 or call of duty? thanks.
umm no i got a targus backpack. as for games ive only played halo, americas army, counter strike source, and half life 2. they perform pretty good, the only one that wasnt as good was half life. i wouldnt count on bf2, but call of duty should run. my only complaints is that after having it on for almost all day it does heat up a bit. its not burning hot but its quite warm, and the cd drive is kinda sensitive. when i bump it, it sometimes opens but its not that big of a deal. i am quite happy that the fan runs quiet except when i was playing americas army or hl2.

FTLOSM and those that are interested,

Check out the news at www.alienware.com. The Core 2 Duos have arrived for the m3450 and other laptop models.

Cpt hows your use going, any quirks with touchpad or keyboard, also how do you like mediacenter?

Also to anyone who knows, where are the speakers on the 3450 located, are they just under the lcd by hinge area or are they on the base in front area.

Sounds silly but i hate my gateway 9500's speakers being in the front part of the base cuz when its on my lap the speakers are blocked partially so was curious of their location on the 3450.

hey i kno i answered ur questions in a pm, but for all others, this pc is still great, the keyboard is mildly "spongy", and the touch pad can be tweaked to ur liking. speakers are under the screen, and man do they suck. very quiet, and are barly audible even in a quiet coffee house.

Wonder where John is (the OP) hope things are good for him with his alienware and his family/mom situation, I remember him saying they had lots going on with her medically.

I DO appreciate his review and many pics, it helped me make the decision to just order one up here today.

Thanks too to Cpt for puttin up with all my questions...

Bill

So, I am wondering since I don't know much about computers and CP says the speakers suck... is there a way to improve this? If I got external speakers, would the sound still suck? Thanks!

SKY that is awesome news! Maybe there is hope I will get mine before Oct 1st, I was thinking since the site said Sept 5th I would guestimate a 3-4 week extra wait period due to the new core 2 duo (not sure if they actually even HAVE them in hand yet).

But cool to hear they are still pumpin out orders on these, I assume you stuck with core duo in your signature - (or had you called for the core 2 duo upgrade)?

Bill
Hey Bill,

Nah, i stuck to the core duo chip, didn't know they had the core 2 duo coming in until i read the forums today...still i can't wait for this awsome machine to get here....

I hope your order comes quick matey.... I was a little dubious as to the comments on here about the AW customer service but i have to say that they have been brilliant as far my order has been concerned and really friendly on the phone too.

It's Arrived!!!

Hi guys.....well my fantastic little Sentia finally arrived after only a couple of weeks.......Yipeeeeeeee!!!!

It is awsome, from the clear screen right down to the stylish look and the lack of any of that damn bloatware!!!!! infact no disk partion at all....just how you would format for yourself..

However, the keyboard is a little spongy on the cursors otherwise the rest of it is fine... It runs a little hot but i can live with that for the sheer speed of the thing.......

I must admit i was kinda hoping that AW having got all my details and having built the system for me had put Windows on it with the user called 'user' and my company called 'your company name' It would have been nice to have my name on there although it was no hassle to change it but it would have been nice not to have to....

Customer services exceptionally good, the whole AW purchasing experience was out of 10, i would give it a 11!!
Well, i got the Sentia m3450, at 345 pm and had a look at it and then when returning home i tuend it on,,,,half an hour later the thing started to overheat and constantly turns its self off!!! I contacted customer support and they were fantastic and are picking it up tomorrow to get it sorted.....bit dissapointed though....hey hoy, never mind, had to happen to someone i suppose,,,,

Delivering again!!

Well, My AW experience has been really good, although i have had to send the laptop back to them, this was done on Monday, after it arriving with them on Tuesday evening and then them looking at it on Wednesday they have been in contact twice today to say that the laptop has been despatched again and will be here tomorrow, so after only 5 days without the laptop it should be back with mne in working order again, hows that for service... I would definately go back to AW for the next PC whenever that should be..

Thanks AW
Sky,

Did they say what the problem was (just curious)...

You would think in their 200 point thing they would catch it overheating...

Did a fan connector come loose in shipping or something...
They said that they had to put some more thermal paste on the cpu which i find bazarre... They also said that it had been on all night and had not overheated but we will wait and see...
