M90 + Fun with dell

i'm a noob. my name's jason. I recently purchased a Dell M90 workstation with the following spex:

2.16 Core Duo
2GB SDRAM @ 667 MHz
100 GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive
17 inch WUXGA screen (high res!)
512 MB nVidia Quadro 2500M card
Backpack
MS Offce
Limited software installation (meaning no trials or demo software in this thing)

the usual suspects

Cost: $3800 - $1000 discount b/c i was chummy and nice to the CS rep and didn't get : at him (if you're nice and kind, they MAY give out discount codes)

i have a few questions to ask about my new baby

a) where are M90 workstations made
b) is this thing gonna be a good gaming machine (better than the XPS)
c) is there a noticeable difference in performance in 4GB vs. 2GB? (the 2.16 i'm fine with... the 2.33 would have been over my budget)

The M90 is the same machine as the M1710. The only real differences are cosmetic (no lights on M90, different lid styling, etc).
Windows won't fully utilize 4GB of memory, so you are good there (the sweet spot right now seems to be 2GB anyways)

It is an incredible machine and it flawlessly runs any game you can throw at it.

Mostly China but I believe some units are made in Ireland for EU customers.

At the current time no, 4gb is pretty much useless as XP SP2 has a ~3gb limit. You are better off with 2gb at the current time.
