Hi all,my Avid Liquid editing software loves Ati graphic card,so to work with it I think to buy this Hp notebook. My questions are:do you think is important to wait for Merom processor? And,what do you think about this notebook (display, processor, graphic card, ecc.)?

Thanks in advance for the answers.
Maurizio,Italy.

HP nx9420 is a fine piece of electronics. Its ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 is great with Liquid, since it's got enough VRAM even for HDV 1080i editing. (256 MB is minimum for it.) Its quality/price ratio is great. I, myself, am using the nw series, though, but it's easily 1.5x-2x more expensive. nx is a great budget solution.

First of all, thanks Tommy for the answer.
I have some questions for you:do you work in HDV with Liquid and your notebook? I work in Dvcam but I'm curious to know if is possible to have something in real time with HDV material and this hardware.

Greetings from Italy to Finland,Maurizio.

My laptop has only 128 MB VRAM, so it's not really suited to HDV material editing on Liquid. I've got a HDV camcorder (Sony HVR-A1E), though, but I need to use other programs than Liquid to edit HDV. In fact, I'm still searching an appropriate HDV editing solution. I might be settling on Sony Vegas, but I haven't made my mind yet. Maybe I'll wait for Vegas 7 to show up.
