I have a Acer Ferrai laptop which I am very happy with and I am trying to get the external soundcard to work properly on it so I can edit my music on the laptop. At first I used the origianl CD that came with my external laptop but that didnt work maybe becuase I am running a higher spec latop which is 64bit maybe & becuase the soundcard is a few years old although very good for my use, so the first thing I done was to go to Creative download websit to get the latest drivers etc which I downloaded (although I do remmember now that it did ask me for a file which I didnt have on my laptop and told me to get it from the Winxp CD disc which I dont have/and I forgetten the name of the file it was asking for but it did still complete the run) the sound does play from my laptop out into my external mixer but I dont have any sound control from my laptop so I can change the sound level out or in like I used to be able to on a previous Laptop. Has anyone else come across anything like this or does anyone know the solution as I dont really want to get another souncard.
