Video Card Problems

I tried this in the hp support and nobody seemed to have a clue. Thought perhaps a general thread would be more helpful.

My brother in law purchased an hp dv8000 (EX177AV) with a 256mb Geforce go 7600. Whenever he plays a game (any game that uses Direct3D) he gets strange graphic errors.

I have tried many different drivers from hp, tweaksRUs, and laptopvideo2go, I have updated the BIOS and reinstalled windows multiple times. I have tried adjusting performance settings for the graphics card.

Hp keeps telling me to add more RAM, which has nothing to do with the problem. The games run fine, there are just these weird problems with the rendering.

Here are some pictures. If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate some help.

That looks like some pretty severe VCore artifacting to me. Is he overclocking the video card? If hes not theres probably a problem with his video card and he should try to return the machine.

Also it could be overheating. Is the computer really hot when playing?

It runs cool. Never have any overheating issues. He is not overclocking or anything. I've been spending an eternity on the phone with hp trying to get it replaced.
