Packard Bell H5 wont turn on

Hi,

I've had my PB h5 for about 3 months now, although I think its about 18 months old as its second hand, so outisde PB's one year warranty.

It had been playing up a bit by not booting properly into windows everytime, and it also wouldn't boot up recently if I had Intel SpeedStep running. Then yesterday I turned it on, and the lights flashed on before going off a second later. It then wouldn't boot up at all.

I tried taking the batery pack out then putting it back in, and now there is a charging light and the on light does come on when i try to start it up as well as the fan but nothing appears on the screen. The processor light dosen't say it's doing anything either.

Does anyone know how I could fix this? Could it be something simple or will I have to buy a new one?

Thanks,
Alex

Packard Hell...that name still makes me go into spasmadic twitches 13 years later after having the displeasure of owning one..that lasted me..oh all of 8 months..

Sounds like you need service from what you've explainned. I would say a bad power supply..but now it sounds like a bad motherboard...course these are just guestimates..

Good luck though..I feel your pain..
