XPS M1210 3d gaming and the blue screen

I have had a 1210 for the past few months and have had only one issue (with the audigy drivers which i would recommend everyone uninstall if you haven't already due to CPU hogging and stupid temp file copying) before now. i use the system mainly for scientific computing (bought by kind boss) but also like to do some 3d gaming to relax.
this new problem started when i downloaded a cracked copy of farcry to test the 3d card before buying a game and finding out it's unplayable. the 1210 ran is really well except it often crashed and went to the blue screen after a while of gameplay. i bought Battlefield 2 and it has started occurring even more often to the point that i can't usually even finish a round of internet play before it crashes. i've checked so many forums and downloaded all the latest drivers from the dell website. i downloaded coolbits and am going to try underclocking the GPU as the computer feels very hot during gameplay.
has anyone experienced any of these issues and resolved them? i have emailed dell and am waiting for a response. it seems weird that it only occurs while playing 3d games.

thanks

I've got a copy of far cry.. first game I installed to test the system.. Ran it really well..no crashing. That aside, do coolbits to unlock the forceware and check your temps. Sounds like your GPU is over heating.. Also, is your fan running while your running these games?

i havent actually tried running the game after i reduced the GPU clock speed as i have been really busy but i will get to that today and post the results. do you have any recommendations for a temp monitoring app that records temps to a text file? that way i can check the temp before it craches.
btw what RAM and GPU clock speeds are you running your Go7400 at? my fan is working fine but the air is really warm during gameplay.
cheers

if you have to reduce clockspeed to get a game working then theres something definetley wrong here.

I agree...Just use coolbits to unlock the forceware and click on temps to see what your temps are..chances are they are high already before you even run a game.. After that i'd run the game then toggle out or run a game in window mode...but it really sounds like a temp problem to me..

My clocks not over clocked are 450/900
