Simple Power supply question

Hello,

I lost my brick and I really need to work. So I found a replacement. But will it work and not damage my machine?

OEM specs:
Full range AC/DC Adapter 19V, 3.42A,100-240V,47-63Hz

Replacement specs:
Input voltage: 120/240 volts 50/60Hz AC; 12 to 16 volts
Output voltage: 0 to 24 Volts DC
Output current: 3.5 amps maximum
Output power: UP to 70 watts

I am pretty sure the replacement will work, but my EE knowledge is really low...so TIA.

i would get something closer to the 18,5v range - max 16v is a pretty good drop

cheers ...

Also, the polarity of the plug into your notebook is important. The wrong way round and you may damage it permanently.
