Hi.

I was trying to play Call of Duty (the first one), and it kept crashing. So I went into my 3D settings for the GMA. Can someone tell me what options to set so I'd get optimum performance? Thanks.

http://www.tweakguides.com/COD2_1.html would be a good start
with integrated gpu, a good/fast hard drive, more ram, clean up xp from un.needed processes would be more than enough to offer a pleasant game experience

cheers ...

People keep saying that yet WoW and Rise of Nations run great on my GMA950. I agree that the latest games won't run but people seem to believe that no game will run. Integrated graphics has come quite a long way in the last few years.

Did you deliberetly get the 900 because you though it would play games? Its not a damn gaming card, get something like an X1300, 7300 and up, damn, spend the extra $50.

Not everyone has an option to do that. When I purchased my machine I didn't have any option other than GMA.

I've played CoD 1 on my D620 which has GMA and it ran fine. You shouldn't have a problem with it. Try closing all other open programs and processes.

Not all of us can afford a dedicated solution so integrated is the way to go. And, as been said already, integrated has come a long way. The GMA 900 is plenty capable in older games. Dedicated is only needed to run a "cool" looking Windows Vista, or to play newer games.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, I only found tweakguides for ATI and NVIDIA cards; nothing for my integrated GMA.

Oh, and I bought my notebook for its low price. It can run CS 1.6 and Guild Wars on highest settings. I can even manage with Battlefront II, though it takes a long time to load.
