ATI will be using unified architecture on an 80nm core while Nvidia is playing it safe with a 90nm core, using seperate pipe lines. Personally, after buying the first line of DX 9 cards, I don't trust the first series of DX10 cards. They are being waaaay too overhyped. DX9 will be the mainstream software for the next 2 years at least, so there is no rush for DX10 cards. No matter what people say, there is no argument there. The first game to actually REQUIRE DX9 is Oblivion, released 3 years after DX9 became available. XP has such a wide distribution base that it would not only be a mistake for game companies to require DX10, it would be fatal to the industry. My recommendation is to either buy now, or wait a good 8 months to a year until the kinks are worked out of DX10, vista and the new hardware.

But this is useless talking to a bunch of people who base their entire life on knowing computers, playing computer games, and dissing on the OS that they are using right now while they read this and type a nasty reply. If it sucks so much, that you have to poke continous fun at it then stop using it. But wait, because I am not bashin MS I must be a fanboy>>?? OK whatever you say. I just wish people would learn to think for themselves. |
