ATI will be using unified architecture on an 80nm core while Nvidia is playing it safe with a 90nm core, using seperate pipe lines. Personally, after buying the first line of DX 9 cards, I don't trust the first series of DX10 cards. They are being waaaay too overhyped. DX9 will be the mainstream software for the next 2 years at least, so there is no rush for DX10 cards. No matter what people say, there is no argument there. The first game to actually REQUIRE DX9 is Oblivion, released 3 years after DX9 became available. XP has such a wide distribution base that it would not only be a mistake for game companies to require DX10, it would be fatal to the industry. My recommendation is to either buy now, or wait a good 8 months to a year until the kinks are worked out of DX10, vista and the new hardware.
good to know.. but i wouldn't buy any new cards now... (unless you are in desprate need of an upgrade)... but do you have any links with this info?

Ok, you use Linux, is a great system indeed, I use Macs and Windows as well and have no problem working with any of them.

It's a computer forum what did you expect to find? You sure you've seen how the world works? Again, who's been posting on this thread claiming to know a lot about Linux, Microsoft and that we don't know its internal workings? If that doesn't label you as a nerd or geek then what does?

But this is useless talking to a bunch of people who base their entire life on knowing computers, playing computer games, and dissing on the OS that they are using right now while they read this and type a nasty reply.
If it sucks so much, that you have to poke continous fun at it then stop using it. But wait, because I am not bashin MS I must be a fanboy>>?? OK whatever you say. I just wish people would learn to think for themselves.

So you praise M$ for all its technology and how great it is and how companies all over the world use it, but yet you USE LINUX FOR EVERYTHING AND WINDOWS JUST FOR GAMING????

I notice some ambivalence here, meaning you're just a troll.

Anyway, we're not bashing Microsoft for the technology just the certain "you must upgrade" techniques they're pulling. C'mon forcing some games (and manufacturers) to wait until Vista is released and make their games Vista only "to have an optimal gaming experience with DX10"?

This really isn't a Micro$oft thread anyways. I was just glad to see ATI coming out swinging! They rock!!

Umm getting back to OP topic, If that review is based on the EnTech review a week or so ago, I wont believe it till I see it. Its been sited much that EnTech are a bunch of fanATIcs, so needless to say the results show that. They tested a 7950 with only one core operating. Of course a 1950 will whoop a 7900GT.....which is effectively what they reduced it to. I'll wait till everyone has their hands on it and we can all make informed decisions rather than basing it all off 1 skewed review......

Also there is this small factoid:

ATI Vendor Supplied Radeon X1950XTX Benchmarks Leaked

Of course a VENDOR will give a badass benchmark, they wanna sell more of THEIR product. To the uninformed (not saying anything about anyone here, but....) it seems great. To those of us with the purchase power, I would like to see a first hand review, or a non biased reviewer to look at it.
