Dell exchange tracking?

Hi, I am suppose to recieve a new 1710 system as an exchange for mine that has died within a week of receiving it. Now the question i want to know is how do i get info on that exchange unit they are sending out? Does dell send out a tracking number ,like a new unit ,or is it just wait and it shows up whenever? Does anyone have experience on the exchanges, that can shed some light on this?, i'm just curious . Thanks

Get on the Dell website with a representative, and just ask for it. They will be able to give it to you in about 5 minutes.

When I got my system replaced I didn't receive any tracking information at all. I have heard some people do, but I never did. I just kept watching the service call status and eventually it showed up in there. good luck!

I didn't recieve anything either.

By the way, has anyone ever had Dell call them back about the tracking of your previous machine? I recieved my replacement on Friday 8/4 and I had sent out my defunct machine by 8/8 or 8/9 I can't remember the date, and they called me today to ask for the tracking number. I know it says to send back within 5 business days in my email (which I did, but I was also told when I had my last lappy replaced it could be 14 days), but I have never had them call me back to ask if I had shipped it out yet. I hope this isn't trouble for me!

If you have an account on dell.com, you can check your replacement system status using the "Dispatch #" that they gave you. After logging on to www.dell.com, click on Service Call Status and enter your Dispatch # in the Service Call Number field. Hope this helps.
