I want to go through everything in my computer and make sure that everything runs prefectly.. before the 30 day money back thing runs out. Just in case.

Problem is.. I'm not the best at these things.

So far, I've found that my wireless card and new sound card work pretty well.

What next?

May want to check the microphone and play a DVD on it. I've read about some people having random troubles playing actualy DVDs. Burning some CDs/DVDs might be good too. I think there are some programs that can stress the system by running lots of things really fast, but I've never used one so I can't help much there. May want to try running a game lik FEAR on it if you have one handy. My average temp is right around yours. But you should probably check the GPU temp too. You can do that with rivatuner. Good luck and enjoy your 9750.

CPU at 56C with power option turned to "Always On". Still okay?

Mine has gotten there before. I usually average in the high 40's, but it can go up or down a little ways for me and still be normal.

Things I'd do include:
  • Test the NIC
  • You tested the Wi-Fi NIC, so
  • Test the optical drive for reading AND writing
  • Check to make sure that all of your x-in-1 drives are working
  • Run some game benchmarks run it (3dMark06, etc.)
  • Download MEMTEST86 and run through to check memory

Enjoy!

Strange connection problems now.

After being left on for 2 hours, the connection starts to slow down. What's strange is that upload speed remains constant and high, it's download speed that falls.

If kept on for 6ish hours, the connection isn't even good enough to surf forums.

A restart of the PC fixes it, until it starts to falter again.

Going to test with a cabled connection to see if it's something to do with wireless.

Connection is fine for long periods of time with my aunt's laptop, so I'm pretty sure it's not the router.

EDIT: I've also had a problem with the notebook not seeing wireless networks.

Everytime I restart, I have to run "%SystemRoot%\system32\services.msc / s", windows zero whatever, set it to automatic and start it. Settings don't stay after PC is turned off.
