Help...tried to upgrade my audio driver now cant hear a thing. I have an old laptop TM430 and wanted to improve its audio performance. Downloaded and installed AC'97 driver v3.90 but intead of sound improvement now i have total silence. Reinstalled several times my old driver but everytime it said "There is problem intalling the hardware; An error occurred during the installation of the device; Access is denied"

My OS is XP Pro and system restore was not able to restore my audio.

thanks a lot qhn!

After uninstalling the driver, run this nice program "Driver Cleaner Pro" which a friend advised me to do. Then reinstalled my old driver and now its back to where it was before my attempted upgrade.

Now I know better: if aint broken, dont fix it.
