Updated as well, no temp readings as of yet though.

do these do more harm than good sometimes? i want to update, not sure if there will be bugs involved by doing a bios update.

NOTE:Shut down all other applications prior to running the BIOS update utility. The update utility reboots your system in order to get the new BIOS loaded.

  1. Double click the Icon on your desktop labeled MM061A08.EXE.

The Dell Bios Flash window appears

  2. Click the Continue button.

The message Pressing OK will close all applications, shut down Windows, Flash the BIOS, then reboot. appears.
  3. Click the OK button.

The system will restart and the Bios Flash will be completed.

Now Merom runs without Bios warnings and cooler
post #12 of 23
Which Merom? T7200 or T7400?
Probably any merom.
it does feel significantly cooler. before, the upper right corner was scalding hot. now it's not too bad.
does the new update keep system fan ON more? I love that my e1505 is silent most of the time
post #16 of 23
is there any other benefit than "cooling down the lappy"? I notice my systems getting slower!
I'm in this IT Support game now 7+ years, my previous job I supported (hands-on) 450+ Dell systems, 100 approx Dell laptops (D series) in the mix too....

The 6400 is the first Dell laptop I had ever bought, it came with A04 BIOS and I flashed to A05 - no probs but A06 & A07 gave me a noiser laptop (running RMCLOCK all these times with low voltages) with A07 causing it to lock up from after an hour of running! I was suprised very by this. I managed to find A05 again and went back to that, no problems...

Now, A08 has more feedback here than other BIOS updates before it so will give it ago and let ye know the scoop.
so daelight what do u think about the A08, any better performance or what? looking forward to your review
post #19 of 23
I've been running A08 for about 10 days. No complaints. I'll admit that I didn't have the E1505 long enough to notice any faults with A07 either.
ok this might sound dumb but where are u guys downloading this from? cuz i am at the dell site and the bios its showing me is AO4? someone help please......
