Hard Drive Not Recognized

I just purchased a Gateway MX6422 on Sunday from Best Buy. This morning I was viewing pictures from a CD, and it just froze with the "blue screen". I restarted and it says Operating System Not Found, and then that there is not hard drive present.

This really pisses me off. I'm about to call Gateway.

Any help would be great!

Check CMOS and see if it shows up in there. If it doesn't, you may be looking at a catastrophic HDD failure.

It doesn't. I'm getting a refund from Best Buy and getting a Sony.
