M6811 out of warrenty Screen, DVD Burner, and Keyboard Replacement

Thread Starter
My keyboard has many keys popped off, and it is so bad that I had to plug in a usb keyboard to even type. My lcd screen in broke in several places, and you cant even see all of the screen and desktop area, so I had to use an external monitor. My DVD drive reads disks fine, but it will not burn cd's, dvd's or anything at all using several burn programs.

all of this stuff is no longer covered under warranty, so is there any place somebody could recommend that fixes laptops.

With that kind of damage, you might be best off parting it out (board, processor, memory, battery, power brick, wi-fi, HDD, etc) and investing the money into another machine (either new or used).

we got enough info in this remarkable forum for a brave soul to dig in and to self-rebuild one's own laptop, save urself the labour cost for a beer or two afterward to celebrate ... or like Thunder_PC mentioned, do a pick-a-part see if u can get some good $ into investing toward a new/used one - now, if u can part ur ding-ding in pieces, u can afford to do some bric-brac work, right? cheers ...
