I won't change anything if it's your dream machine. But shop around some more for better prices. Its' about 4400 dollars US. A bit pricey. The x6800 and dual 7950 really jacked it up.

Sound Card about 125
DVD Writer, CD Writer, about 100 total

$5000 CN for a system that will be obsoleted in 8 months seems a waste for me. Your dual GPU will need to be replace when the DX10 cards come out. The Conreo Extreme is a waste as you get minimal performance gain for paying almost 3 times more than the E6600. I would get 2 WD3200KS or 2 Seagate 7200.10 320GB and run RAID 0. Why do you need a PCI USB card when your mobo offers up to 10 USB 2.0 ports? Also, I would go with the Logitech Z5500 or Z5450 speakers instead of the lowend X530, why use lowend speaker with a topend system.

thanks for the advice.
but I probubly won't have the $5000 till better hard ware has made everyhting here obsolite. Hopefully by then they would have made a conroe quad core(or along those lines), then i'll have to change the motherboard and probubly the rest of my specs.
This was mostly to seee if I had the right idea, also an incentive to work harder to get that money.

I'm actually looking at building a Conroe system is the next month or so, you can take a look at my build plan. It's not as fast as yours but should be able to hold me over till DX10 come out.

CPU: Conroe E6300
Heatsink: Termaltake Golden Orb II (depending on the stock heatsink performance)
Mobo: DFI Infinity 975X/G or Abit AW9D Crossfire
Memory: 2GB OCZ Gold DDR2 800
Case: Antec P180B or Antec Sonata II
Power: Antec Neo HE 430W or 500W
Hard Drives: 2 x WD2500KS/Seagate 7200.10 250GB or 2 x WD3200KS/Seagate 7200.10 320GB in RAID 0
Videocard: X1900GT 256MB
Heatsink: Zalman VF9000-cu (depending on the stock heatsink performance)
DVD-Durner: Existing Pioneer DVD-109

Current cost: Between $1097US to $1328US

TO get within 10% of your system you can Take the CPU to a E6600 for about $150, Logotech Z5500 will add $300, Dell 2407 $800, MX5000 $100, ASUS SLi mobo add $50, Topend Videocard adds $100, so you can still do it for about $3000CN. You don't need a soundcard if you take the digital ouput from the mobo direct to the Z5500. I would not use wireless on a desktop if I can avoid it as the thruput on a Cat 5 cable is still better than any wireless and more reliable.

The X1900GT is an interm solution till the DX10 comes out then I can decide what to get.

That one or others that are selling at around $200. Seems price is dropping right before the X1950 comes out.

Rather than spend >$3K on a high-end rig, hoping to make it last 4 years, I prefer to buy a new ~$1K mid-range rig every 1 year/18 months, with one VC upgrade somewhere in the middle.

But that's just me.
