You take a guess with this post? What do you know about SP2 and Vista? I venture a guess MSoft doesn't even know what's coming out in Sp1 let alone Sp2....

And move to linux if that's you're thing, but don't add to your post count by posting nonsense....

I'm gonna wait till SP1 for Vista before I get it. For now, I'm waiting for Service Pack 3 for XP.

after i beta tested vista, i deleted it and put on osx, and then 3 weeks later i ordered a mac, vista did not impress me, at all, and i all my notebooks are vista capable with dedicated cards, but i see me sticking with xp, "maybe' i would slap vista on a desktop around here, but i doubt it, they really didn't make the strides with this one, like 3.11 to w95 or w95 to 98, were improvements, then with xp being built more on the nt systems then 98, there was progress, and now this...nothing but visuals, and the code keeps getting bloated, they kinda should learn from mac, how they changed it all up after os 9 and vista should have dropped support for 98 and previous applications, created a new file system, and start embracing open source communities maybe pump funds to open source projects to that make people "need" a windows based OS, and i doubt any large orders are gonna be placed for it, as the military computers for all marine corp bases in the u.s. still run 2000, with no plans to upgrade,

I say at least a year after the initial release.
Forget what the 'so-called experts' are saying about release. I think it will become mainstream within the next month or two. Have some optimism people.

Bah, with MS's track record for releasing buggy software, it will be a bit before everyone accepts it.
i MIGHT run it on my laptop(when i get it) when it comes out my desktop wont ever run it lol tis to old. ill find out how buggy it is first tho if its anything like XP was im sticking with what ive got (XP). ill wait for SP1/2.

oh i dont think it will go main stream till about 6 month after its release

meh define mainstream?

IDK until I joined these forums I had no idea what a Service Pack was...heck I dont think 99% people outhere do (or care for that matter...its just something they download cause MS tells em to) so I think since every new PC will be shipping with it..its gonna be "mainstream" pretty darn quick.

Im hoping to wait atleast for SP1

siul is on to something here....

i don't see people running to best buy to get the install disks to upgrade their current boxes...the computers people ahve now will continue living on XP...however, within 3 or so years the people who buy tehy computers now will buy a repalcement with vista on it... so it will be an eventual phase-in...take about a year or so to have a substantial share of the market to be considered "main streaM?"
